What products are auger fillers best for?
Auger fillers are normally used for powders and some fine granules where controlled screw dosing gives a more suitable route than a pump, cup filler or basic gravity feed.
Can an auger filler be used for jars, bottles and pouches?
Yes, but the container handling and discharge setup changes. Rigid containers, premade pouches, VFFS bags and sachets all need different presentation and sealing arrangements.

A powder pouch trial should show how the empty pack is held open, where the dose lands and how the filled pouch moves into the closing step. Record the packaging reference used for the trial; a similar-looking pouch can have different dimensions or opening features. Ask for representative unsealed samples as well as completed packs so that the dosing and sealing stages can be reviewed separately when a result is outside the agreed standard.

- Define the pouch presentation supplied to the filler, including zipper position, usable opening and how an incorrectly opened pack is handled.
- Transfer observation
- Review the movement between filling and sealing with the product inside the pack, including any waiting or settling stage.
- Seal evidence

Why keep samples from before the sealing stage?
They help show whether powder placement and pouch presentation met the agreed requirements before closing. This can narrow the investigation when finished packs fail an appearance or seal check.
